Les Cinémas Guzzo golf tournament a huge success THREE MONTREAL HOSPITALS RECEIVE $ 60,000! Terrebonne, June 17, 2003 - The annual Cinémas Guzzo golf tournament was held at Club de Golf Verchères last week. The tournament was a tremendous success, raising $ 60,000 for three Montreal-area hospitals. The 152 players donated a total of $ 30,000. Vincenzo Guzzo, executive vice-president and chief operations officer of Cinémas Guzzo, presented the amount to the Fondation de l'hôpital Sainte-Justine at the closing dinner. Ms. Carole Hooper accepted the cheque on behalf of the foundation and said they will use the money to invest in equipment and resources that further the hospital's goals. Cinémas Guzzo double the amount Mr. Guzzo kept his word and doubled the total amount donated by players. He handed a cheque in the amount of $ 20,000 to Dr. Carole Lambert of the oncology department at Hôpital Notre-Dame, and a $ 10,000 cheque to Dr. Michel McCormack of Hôpital Saint-Luc. This money will help both hospitals pursue their ongoing research work in the fight against cancer. A prizeworthy hole-in-one! Incredibly, a player sunk a hole-in-one from a distance of 156 yards on the fourth hole of the Madeleine course. In recognition of this feat, this player will be driving a Maserati for a whole year! Vincenzo Guzzo invited all his guests to the next annual Cinémas Guzzo golf tournament in June 2004.
